The concept of doodle paintings is commonly understood to have no meaning. However, the value of any painting is the meaning you bring to it. As such, no painting is meaningless.
K. Melling’s Doodle Paintings
At K. Melling Studios, we offer various Doodle Paintings. The nature of the artwork means they aren’t categorized into specific genres. Instead, they are spare of the moment musings and observations. As an artist, Melling is always working, and the vast collection of Doodle paintings was created mainly in 1995 and 1996 though some before and some after. Yet there are many in the group made much earlier. Some pieces of note include Stocks Reservoir, inspired by a walk through Northern England, and Biking along the East Shore of Coniston Water, a warm memory of a crisp Autumn cycling trip.
The Appeal of Doodle Paintings
There is a significant ebb and flow to Doodle Paintings, being more a reflection of imagination and fleeting muse rather than a rigid structure born out of an intended concept. When you observe a Doodle, you gain virtual introspection into an outward reflection. Often, the random intent is known only to the artist, with the form more reminiscent of a fading dream instead of an accurate representation of the real. Because of their nature, Doodle Paintings make for excellent conversation pieces and look stunning in any room with any décor.

Mellings Doodle Paintings can be purchased as fine art prints and cards, each offering something unique and stunning. Please be aware that the studio is currently open by appointment only because of COVID-19. Therefore, please call ahead before visiting the studio. Postage and Shipping
K. Melling studio is pleased to ship anywhere in the world. All prints are carefully rolled into 4 inch strong tubes for maximum protection. Currently, we are delighted to offer free delivery on orders of over £76. However, this applies to addresses in the UK only. Prints inside the UK currently cost £4.75 per order. However, we can ship to Europe for £8 and £23 anywhere else in the world. We are also pleased to offer shipping on books at £4 per book inside the UK, £8 in Europe and £23 to the rest of the world.
