Malham Cove... one of the most visited sites in the Yorkshire Dales. It was late in the afternoon when I sketched this, and there was a beautiful raking light on the cove. However it was changing rapidly so I had to draw very quickly.

This former shooting lodge was a favourite subject of the writer J. B. Priestley. He painted in watercolour. The lodge has now fallen into ruin and seems to have worsened over the last few years
