Summit view from Coniston Old Man, Lake District
The view east over the tarns of Low Water, Levers Water and Coppermines Valley is quite spectacular, especially on a breezy clear day when cloud shadows scud over the fells. The mountain, 2634 feet 803m high, has been much exploited and scarred through slate quarrying and copper mining, but doesn't detract from its grandeur.
