Wastwatwer Screes - Lake District. I sometimes like to use a broader technique in my paintings, as I did here to capture the ruggedness of this subject; mixing sand in the paint to give texture and to represent the boulders on the lower slopes. This is the deepest lake in England and is often a dark rich colour. There is always an indescribable atmosphere here, whatever the weather.
From an acrylic (with sand) painting.
